ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 Medium onion chopped
  • 3 ribs Celery chopped
  • 1 can (400g) Mushrooms , chopped
  • 1/2 kilo White shrimps
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

steps

  1. Steam or boil shrimp in very little water, until cooked.  When cool, shell shrimps completely.  Chop shrimp meat into small dice (chunky, not too fine).
  2. In a frying pan, melt butter. Sauté onions, then celery until soft. Add mushrooms.
  3. Toss in shrimp pieces until heated through. Turn off the heat.  Mix in cream cheese and allow cheese to melt.
  4. Transfer mixture to a bowl and add mayonnaise and parmesan cheese. Season with salt, pepper and onion powder.
  5. Top with more cheese and refrigerate until ready to use. Just before serving, place under broiler until cheese melts. Serve with sliced toasted French bread.
