ingredients

  • 1/4 kilo pork liempo
  • 1-2 cups water
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1-2 cups cooking oil for frying the pork
  • 4 cubes Japanese firm tofu or tokwa
  • 1-2 cup cooking oil for frying the tofu
  • 1/4 cup red bell peppers , julienned
  • 1/4 cup green bell peppers , julienned
  • 1 pc chili finger
  • 1 pc shallots or white onion , sliced
  • ingredients for the sauce:
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup coconut vinegar or white vinegar
  • 2 Tbsps honey
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper

steps

  1. Boil the pork liempo  in water with salt until tender. Remove from the  water  and air dry for a few hours. Cut into cubes or strips and deep fry in hot  oil  until golden brown and crisp. Set aside.
  2. Cut tokwa into cubes, strips or planks (or any other shape you can imagine!) and deep fry the pieces until golden. Drain excess oil with paper towels.
  3. Toss in a bowl  with the fried pork, cut bell peppers, shallots and chili. Combine  all the ingredients for the sauce and stir until honey  is dissolved. Pour sauce on the  tofu  mixture or serve on the side.
