ingredients

  • 2 Tbsps vegetable oil
  • 200 g tuna loin
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup rice pilaf
  • 1 carrot sliced and blanched in boiling water for 2 minutes
  • 3 pcs green beans blanched in boiling water for 2 minutes
  • 1 pc cherry tomato , blanched in boiling water for 2 minutes
  • 1-2 Tbsp butter
  • balsamic reduction
  • 1 thin slice of lemon (to garnish)
  • ingredients for rice pilaf:
  • 1 Tbsp vegetable oil vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup white onion , diced
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 1 cup chicken stock

steps

procedure for tuna:

  1. Brush tuna  with 1 Tbsp of oil so it won’t stick to the  grill, season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Sear both sides until grill marks become evident.  Let rest for 2-3 minutes, put on top of rice pilaf and garnish with a slice of lemon and buttered vegetables.

procedure for buttered vegetables:

Sauté the blanched vegetables in 1-2 Tbsps butter, season with salt and pepper to taste.

procedure for rice pilaf:

  1. In a pot using medium heat,  sauté  onion  in vegetable oil then add turmeric powder.
  2. Next, put the long grain rice and mix well until onion and turmeric are  fully incorporated
  3. Pour chicken stock, bring to a simmer then leave covered until the  water  has completely evaporated.
  4. Let rest for five minutes, uncover and mix once again for the flavor to spread evenly. Serve rice on a plate.
