  • 2 Tbsps butter
  • 2 Tbsps cooking oil
  • 1 Tbsp garlic , minced
  • 300g ground beef
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper , finely diced
  • 1/4 cup green bell pepper , finely diced
  • 5-6 cups rice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • chopped green onions
  • seasoning sauce:
  • 3 Tbsps Japanese soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsps mirin
  • 1/4 tsp sesame oil

steps

  1. In a wok, heat cooking oil and butter. Sauté the garlic but do not brown. Add the ground beef and cook over high heat for about 5 minutes until brown, stirring occasionally.
  2. When beef is cooked, add the peppers and cook for 2 minutes. Mix in the cooked rice.
  3. Pour in the seasoning sauce and mix well. Taste and correct seasoning with salt and pepper.
  4. Make a well in the center and pour n the beaten eggs. Let cook until eggs are set, then mix in the rice. Taste and correct seasoning again. Top with chopped green onions before serving. Serve immediately.
