• 1 cup Short grain glutinous rice
  • 1/2 cup regular rice
  • 1/2 kilo Ube , boiled
  • 1 (300 ml) can Condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 3/4 cup White sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Powdered ube color
  • 1 cup Grated cheddar cheese


  1. Combine the glutinous and regular rice in a bowl and wash well.  Add 1½ cups of water and cook in a rice cooker until done. Set aside.
  2. In a large and heavy wok combine the following ingredients–cooked ube, condensed milk, butter, sugar and color.  Place over low heat and cook, stirring continuously until slightly thick.  Then add the cooked rice. Continue to cook, stirring continuously, until the rice absorbs the liquid.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a platter or tray lined with banana leaves previously sterilized over an open flame. Top with grated cheese. chill before serving.
