  • 7 overripe bananas saba variety , boiled and mashed
  • 1 medium-sized taro boiled and mashed
  • 25 strips of fresh or bottled langka (jackfruit)
  • 25 pcs lumpia wrapper
  • oil for deep frying
  • sauce ingredients:
  • 4 Tbsps butter
  • 2/3 cups packed brown sugar
  • 6 Tbsps coconut cream
  • 1/2 cup diced langka
  • 2 Tbsps toasted sesame seeds

steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the mashed bananas and taro  until well blended.
  2. Place a heaping tablespoon of the mixture on a lumpia wrapper. Add a piece of langka. Roll up and seal using a bit of water.
  3. Heat  oil for frying and cook turon until crisp  and golden brown. Drain excess oil on paper towels.
  4. In a saucepan,  combine the sauce ingredients, except the langka. Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture thickens (about  5 minutes). Add langka and toasted sesame seeds.
  5. Serve  turon with prepared sauce.
