If the rain brings with it a craving for Chinese food, then Chinese convenience stores like DEC is the best place to satisfy that craving. What makes it even better is that, at around 8pm, their dimsum goes on sale! Instant 20% discount on your favorites!

R: I have not been to any Chinese restaurant that offered Century Egg Siomai, and so you can just imagine my excitement when I saw a box of Century Egg Siomai on the shelf! Fourteen pieces of that creamy century egg goodness packed inside a tender siomai ball. Absolutely delicious.

Of course, the classic Siomai and Hakaw had to be part of this meal. Six pieces of Siomai + six pieces of Hakaw for 160 pesos = an awesome deal. Munch on this while you’re enjoying your favorite DVD to complete the viewing experience!

C:  Instead of typically having noodles and dimsum delivered to your house for rainy evenings– I suggest looking into an alternative Chinese food selection at DEC. Heads up – they aren’t a dine-in restaurant so only consider for a dine-at-home situation ;)

There was too much to try such as their fresh lumpia, ma chang, barbeque, etc …In this case, I went for the dimsum! The century egg siomai is a real treat, being large, tasty and having a decent-sized piece of century egg in it. If you’re not a fan of century egg, then you can also try their giant hakaw (not pictured) which I think I might go for next time. I also heard that their pork barbeque is also very good.The Hakaw and siomai were good and very reasonably priced. Since we came after 8pm, we were able to score a 20% discount too!

Peanut Butter Company

Having peanut butter as the key ingredient in every dish was such a promising concept, and Peanut Butter Company brought this to life with impeccable taste. You only have to wait ten minutes tops for your order, making it perfect for a takeout meal.

R: The Classic Spaghetti has become my favorite dish to order from PB & Co. It had that peanut butter-y flavor that reminded me of kare-kare, but it was still rich and creamy like Bolognese pasta. I thoroughly enjoyed the spaghetti despite it not having any toppings. It was already good even just on its own.

C: The PBC Marshmallow Peanut Butter Sandwich is as simple as it is indulgent - best had when you are looking for something sweet, but not necessarily a dessert. It’s got a generous amount of homemade peanut butter to balance out the sweetness of the melted marshmallows. They also serve half portions for those who might find it too rich.

R: Rainy day blues will be virtually nonexistent when you have your perfect rainy day takeout meals as your companion. We can definitely expect more rainy days to come, making it the best time to explore your own rainy day favorites!
