I admit: I started working out this month because I was inspired by Appetite's Healthy Issue.  As it turns out, before you work out, you need to eat certain kinds of food to ensure an effective and comfortable workout. Simple carbohydrates are ideal, because they contain glucose, an energy source that is ideal for exercise.

What do you usually eat before a workout?
