Given that my siblings and I share one room, I hardly get peace and quiet, let alone some me-time. While I appreciate bonding with them, there are just times when I just like to give myself some personal space, enjoy good food and drinks, especially if I have work to do. Whether I want to work, or whenever I want to hang out with some friends and chat all night, I go to Kozui Green Tea along Tomas Morato. Here are 5 reasons why it is my favorite place to hang out:

1. Good Food and Drinks

Given that there are a lot of Japanese restaurants have similar dishes like the usual maki, sashimi, chicken teriyaki, and others, discovering what Kozui offers was a refreshing change. Dishes are very unique, healthy but still flavorful.

Bestsellers include:

Chicken and Vegetable Wrap  P160

Takoyaki P100

Chicken Karaagedon (Crispy chicken with teriyaki sauce, P190)

Green Tea Anmitsu (Their version of halo halo--it's green tea ice cream topped with mango, green tea jelly, mango beans, melon and dango balls, P150)

Apart from the unique and delicious food, they have a wide range selection of tea drinks, even more choices than their food--which I really love, specially because I don't drink coffee. They have the basic tea drinks to the fruit teas, the milk teas, and even tea smoothies (Korichios)!

Bestsellers include:

Genmaicha Lemon Tea (Hot or Iced, Tall P80, Grande P90)

Roasted Green Tea Latte (Tall P100, Grande P115)

Pomegranate Tea (Tall P90, Grande P100)

Melon Korichio (Tall P130, Grande P140)

2. Free Wifi

Kozui's free wifi never failed me through my thesis. The place is so conducive to studying, working, surfing the net, or even just playing games on your mobile phones while enjoying good food and drinks!

3. Good Ambiance

The first time I saw Kozui, I said to myself that I want to have a room like this when I build my dream home. That's that it makes me feel--comfortable and at home. The apple green and white theme is just so pleasant to the eyes, not to mention the nice menu design, the packaging of the home made tea, the order stand and everything else! Because the place is quaint--which is probably Kozui's strength, the noise and the crowd is controlled, which makes the mood easy, light and comfortable.

4. Still My Little Secret

Kozui has been open since 2007, but I'm really glad that they are not too commercialized. Usually, people hear about Kozui just by word of mouth, and when they try it, they love it! It remains a special and charming place to bring guests and surprise them with unique Japanese food and drinks!

5. Family, Young and old

Though the obvious customers of Kozui are the young adults because of the free wifi and the tea phenomenon sweeping Metro Manila, it is guaranteed that even the parents and even grandparents can enjoy what Kozui has to offer, especially because of the growing number of health-conscious people nowadays.
