A Thai Food Festival at the Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila

MANILA, THE PHILIPPINES (3 November 2011) – Get a taste of authentic Thai cuisine from November 4 to 13 2011 at the Hyatt’s Secrets of Siam Thai Food Festival. Lovers of Thai cuisine will be entreated to a feast of authentic Siamese culinary culture provided by the foremost authority on home-style Thai cooking, Chef Siriluck Lekkwan, known to most as Chef Mum.

For over 16 years, Chef Mum has been captivating gourmands all over the world, including the members of the Thai Royal Family. From Grand Hyatt Erawan, Bangkok and Hong Kong, Chef Mum brings her sought-after expertise to Manila with “The Secrets of Siam: A Thai Food Festival.”

This ten-day long festival features Chef Mum behind the helm of the show kitchens at the Market Café, bringing us authentic delicacies such as Tom Yum Goong, a spicy seafood soup flavored with lemongrass and basil that is similar to the Filipino sinigang, Gaeng Kari Gar (chicken in yellow curry and potatoes), Panaeng Mua (red beef curry), Som Tam Thai (green papaya salad) and other gems that bring out the unique flavors that resonate throughout Thai cuisine.

To cleanse the palate, desserts such as Tub Tim Krob (water chestnuts soaked in coconut milk and iced syrup), Khad Niew Mamung (fresh ripe mango slices with sticky rice) and Sangka Fugthong (steamed pumpkin with custard) among others will also be available and made from ingredients imported from Thailand.

Market Café will be charging PHP 1,850 net per head, and will also be available on the weekend brunch buffet at PHP 1,650 per head, inclusive of unlimited Thai iced tea, iced coffee and Thai beers.
