Swensen’s of San Francisco Arrives in the Philippines
Chito & Lizzie Guerrero of The Old Spaghetti House and Grilla Bar & Grill are the people behind the arrival of Swensen’s in Manila. “The Old Spaghetti House’s thrust is all about ‘Treasures Waiting to Be Discovered,’ and Swensen’s is one of those treasures, enthuses Lizzie Guerrero, general manager of the group. “Swensen’s has been a popular watering hole in our neighboring countries Thailand and Singapore. Knowing that most Filipinos are born with sweet tooth, as well as a discriminating taste for ice cream that is also value for money, we felt that Swensen’s will be a craze in Manila,” adds Lizzie.

Most Filipinos who have travelled to San Francisco, Thailand, and Singapore have enjoyed the Ultimate Sundae Experience of Swensen’s and are excited that the premium ice cream brand is arriving in the Philippines. One of these is Kira Ramirez, a blogger and Swensen’s lover who blogged about her ‘longing’ to have Swensen’s in Manila. “Kira was just so ecstatic that Swensen’s is finally in the Philippines that we have invite her to be one of our first guests,” says JB Bolaños, group marketing manager.”
Tina Hernandez, group operations manager and project head of Swensen’s in the Philippines, sees that the brand will take the country by storm. “After our first outlet in SM Mall of Asia, we are planning to open two 2 more before the year ends. These would be in Eastwood City and SM South Mall.”
