It was a “G’Day” in the Marriott Hotel’s Grand Ballroom last August 20, as the Australian-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce Philippines in cooperation with Tara Events Management launched “Corks and Forks: An International Food and Wine Fest.” Aside from the best food and wine products from Australia and New Zealand, the chamber celebrated other delectable goodies from around the world as well.

Eager guests flocked to the Marriott Hotel and were pleased to discover several exhibitors offering a taste of their excellent products. It was the perfect place to decide whether you liked red or white wine, as the wine exhibitors showed off their best wares from different regions. A large selection of cheeses were also available to match whichever wine you preferred, as well as bread, chocolates, pastries and meat. Budding kitchen goddesses also checked out a few booths with culinary tools and equipment, then watched some product demos and lectures. Guests were only too happy to bring home the most delicious choices, especially with sales and discounts that select exhibitors offered just for that day. Even after shopping for their pantries, they hung around the ballroom to enjoy the live music and wait excitedly for raffles.

There was also a lovely Australian and New Zealand-inspired Bubbly Brunch for prime ticket holders, featuring Piper Heisieck and Nottage Hill Pinot Noir Chardonnay Brut. Prepared especially by The Marriott for the event, their Champagne Brunch was unlike any other. From warm croissants to New Zealand Mussels in Tomato Salsa to Australia Rib Eye to White Chocolate Truffles, it satisfied every taste bud and appetite in the house.
