Wabi Sabi may be a vegatarian restaurant, but try everything on the menu and you’ll find yourself not missing meat at all. The Potstickers (Php45 for 3) are yummy dumplings that come with a special secret sauce. The Veggie Cracklings (Php40) make for a good appetizer. They are served with vinegar and taste even better than chicharon. There’s an ongoing debate on which noodle dish is better–the Shoyu Ramen (Php95) or the Viet Pho (Php95). The Ramen includes beancurd strips that add a savory sweetness while thePho is lighter, just as filling, and contains mushroom stems that look and taste like chicken. I’m currently on the side of Pho, but I wouldn’t mind eating them again to confirm. Arguably the best thing on the menu is the Bahn Mi (Php75 half/150 whole), a Vietnamese sandwich filled with vegetables and barbecued vegemeat, with a little bit of mayo and as much barbeque sauce as you can pour on. That, my friends, comprises the whole menu, which you can enjoy with a glass of ice cold, freshly brewed Lemongrass Iced Tea (Php40). Eat here and you will agree that going vegan need not be weenie.
