An offshoot of the long-running Shin Tong Yong Taiwanese deli across the street, Happy Delicious offers a mix of the deli’s bestsellers, plus items that are exclusively theirs, like Chicken Kikiam (P100) and Taiwanese Wonton Soup (P80). You can buy their hot and tasty entrées by weight (the Mapo Tofu is P80 for 1/4 kilo) or by portion (the Boneless Grilled Chicken Leg is P80 per piece). I like how they skillfully bring out the flavors of their vegetable dishes.

They also have a chiller section that offers cold appetizers like Cucumber in Rice Vinegar with Garlic and Peppers (P60), and desserts, such as Mango Sago (P70). But the best deal for me is their Bento Box Set (P130) that includes rice, a choice of appetizers (Cai Po, spicy pickled radish or Sua La, a shellfish appetizer), one main dish (chicken legs, pork chop, adobo, sausage or pork asado) and a side dish (usually vegetables). The rice alone deserves special mention for its moist, chewy texture. Check out the counter outside for a selection of tasty fried siopao, like the Kuchay Chicken Pao (P30).
