There’s always something comforting about eating Italian food. The rich, flavorful sauces and fresh herbs and spices scattered on top of al dente pasta and scrumptious pizza dough keep you coming back. Infuse all of that with familiar Filipino tastes and you’ve got a winner. That’s the strength of Green Tomato. Sprouting in Shangri-La in 2004, the restaurant had a simple goal of bringing fantastic Italian dishes to Filipinos. Since then, people have been falling in love with their recipes and feeling at home in their restaurant. There are other Italian restaurants who pepper their menu with complicated dishes and foreign terms, but Green Tomato isn’t afraid to lay out their wonderful offerings simply and straight-out. They produce delightful and mouth-watering plates, from ever-present favorites, like Carbonara pasta and Margherita Pizza, to more unique ones, like their Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto and Shrimp Salsa pasta and a fillet of fish affectionately named after Joe Pesci.
Their best-selling pastas are Shrimp and Feta Pasta and their Chicken and Mushroom Pasta, but their raviolis are quite fetching as well, like the Fois Gras Ravioli and Four Cheese Spinach Ravioli. Another popular pasta pays tribute to their Pinoy roots: not a lot of other restaurants have Dulong Pasta, and Green Tomato is proud to add a little local delight to their menu. It’s obvious that their quality and fl avors truly stand out, and with their affordable and reasonable prices, you can never go wrong with Green Tomato.
