Review

As we arrived, Amici was already buzzing busily with the lunch crowd, proving that its popularity has not waned since it was started by an Italian priest in Don Bosco Makati in 1994. This pizza had a soft powdery crust, and was topped with tasty ribbons of prosciutto, and melted cheese that dripped off my fingers. The sauce was on the light side, but I nevertheless enjoyed the cheesiness of this pizza.

Sometimes you just need a good, consistent pizza and don’t want to take a risk by trying a new place. For me, this is when Amici is perfect. The pies are dependable, fresh and always deliver a good combination of crunch, flavor and crust. You can also count on a liberal serving of prosciutto. A tip: Ask for the pizza to be well done so that it crisps up the prosciutto and wakes up the flavor of the cheese. The crusts here are smile-worthy, especially when dunked in a side of sauce. Loved tasting a little bit of the flour when finishing up each slice.
